That's a bit surprising to me if true, but yeah humans traditionally are the weakest link of any tech. What I meant before was that the security issues we might see today regarding data on public blockchains could be compared to what people of 1980s would think about the internet of today. Further regarding security, publicity and obscurity, I assume you have heard about zero knowledge proofs and zk-snarks? These do offer additional security for public blockchain data (still doesn't solve the good old lost key issue though, but it might be unsolvable after all). One project you might also find interesting is Secret Network, which employs completely private smart contracts.
