trying to use a music bot just shakes the screen as though i'm in slowmode. any help?

this happened to me and a lot of friends at around the same time a week or two ago, and hasn't stopped. most of us can't use the bot, but weirdly enough some of us can and have been taking on dj duty. we're using a version of red that my friend is hosting on his server pc. we haven't changed any permissions or roles for the bot or anyone else in any server that it's in, just one day randomly we stopped being able to send /play command messages. if it were just me, i'd assume it was on my end, but this seems like a weird discord update thing or something wrong with the bot. ideas?
