Using WSL to use NoiseTorch to get free noise cancellation on Windows?

So far I am stuck on how to actually get the file to properly install. I used tar to extract to the home directory as instructed, but I am extremely confused, cause I tried to give the file permissions and it says that the file or directory does not exist Repo that has the directions I am following. I tried checking the home directory as I ran 'cd ~' and then 'ls' but there appear to be no files at all in the directory, as if home doesn't exist. Is there something I am missing about WSL on a conceptual level here?

You could also get rnnoise working directly on your microphone using equalizer apo, all are free and open source software. You can find a tutorial on how to setup it here
