If you're going to make your plex server available to others outside your network, you're likely going to be transcoding the streams. If you were planning on using an Nvidia gpu, you'll need this to give your plex container access to your gpu.
Doplarr is a godsend
For plexi/sonarr/radarr, it also adds in isolation. Meaning the sonarr docker container doesn't have access to the radarr one. If you have a VPN / client you use to torrent, use something like this , there's no reason it needs to be running on youre entire host machine, potentially slowing down Plex streams. It's safe. That container doesn't know the world outside of the VPN/ torrent client world. It can't get out to the real internet regardless of if the VPN disconnects
Yeah but it's configurable from a central location, and portable. I found another comment here which mentioned "Homer", that looks really good too. https://github.com/bastienwirtz/homer
why not use https://cloudbox.works and save some time managing it all yourself?
Check out their wiki and Ibracorp's video.
As for my Plex Media Server, that's running on bare metal along with my torrent client (Transmission).
