What I learned over the past months: - Minecraft 1.16.5 is running flawless. This is due to the state of the game and the associated Java version. - 1.12 and older modpacks is a hit and miss. This is because this older Minecraft version is using the older Java Version 8 instead of Java 11 or above - 1.18 runs stable but I get lower frame rate. This is due to changes introduced to the game and is not limited to Apple. You’ll see the same on Windows. - MultiMC is going to be your favourite launcher. - You’ll have to install the proper Java version made for Apple M1. This is not a problem. You just need to know as it’s not obvious. - Apple silicon requires a little hack: https://github.com/yusefnapora/m1-multimc-hack
The hack above would not be required if MultiMC would be compiled for ARM. There is a forked project for arm whereby you don’t need the above hack https://github.com/MinecraftMachina/ManyMC
