Make a favor for yourself and use either borg or kopia (i switching now from borg due to kopia is multiplatform and has much more backend) instead of rsync (as well its wrappers liky luckybackup and timeshift). While it it still a very good tool and can be used as backup (especially with utilization of --link-dest) it can't do de-duplication as well you can easily push incremental, dedublicated backup to other repositories besides of OMV. With kopia just give it ssh credentials to some share on OMV and and use sftp backend, then run it on cron periodically.
