A version of Fruit Economy for 7DRL 2022

  • Fruit Economy - 7DRL 2022 - itch.io | latest devlog | ghHey Everyone,Well I posted a new devlog with screenshots so people can see progress, got a few new screens. I'm doing a more unconventional roguelike (or should that be roguelite) where I start with the roleplaying game, a-la dnd and then go up a level, so the player plays a leader of adventurers. There's no proc-gen yet, that will come later. I wanted to focus on gameplay first and I think I've got the skeleton of that put together. The basic gameplay loop is that you the player will be sending your adventuring party (from now on called peeps) on quests with a variable attrition rate. Giving them a chance for glory and you get some annoying tasks done. Still vaguely working out the longer gameplay loop, I've got a few ideas, but nothing super concrete just yet. Other than perhaps have a gauntlet / big bad quest at the end, which if you manage to complete you win. I'm thinking the lose condition will be something along the lines of not keeping on top of the quests, if you leave them alone for too long they can cause problems which cause you to lose. Keeping it reasonably simple for now =)...As always, questions welcome!- Folcon

  • I've only just started on this. I'm starting with a fork of a slightly improved Python tutorial and using a WFC library that's been around for a while but didn't have a good interface until I worked on a fork of it. This means I won't spend the entire week just getting an engine running.
