for watchtower...i have a different approach....i don't keep my watchtower container running....although it has a default cron schedule to run updates once a day...but that cron schedule is inside the container and there's no way to monitor weather it's running or not... so manage cron on my base os(ubuntu) and run the watchtower container in "run once" mode once a day...and since that cron is in your base os, you can just modify the command to push to uptime kuma once every 24 hours.....but i use healthchecks.io for this instead of uptime kuma, since it has more options like, you can pass logs with push endpoints... you can define a start push and finish push...so it shows how long the command ran...
