I'm trying to render a video using AMD's he264_amf or hevc_amf hardware encoders on Windows, but I can't seem to get it working. I know the ffmpeg and mlt versions bundled with kdenlive don't have AMF enabled, so I selected a ffmpeg version that I compiled myself using Media Autobuild Suite. This alone didn't do the trick and the log file states: video codec h264_amf unrecognised.
This might be expected, since melt -query "video_codecs" also doesn't list any AMF encoder. I'm not experienced enough (and frankly without an automated build script it just seems like too much hassle) to compile mlt myself, I tried using the version that comes with Shotcut because I know from testing that Shotcut can use the AMF encoders.
