Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • scantailor-advanced

ScanTailor Advanced is the version that merges the features of the ScanTailor Featured and ScanTailor Enhanced versions, brings new ones and fixes.

  • Next is the cleanup. Scan Tailor is the best game in town for this, but it's a dead project. Instead, there are two forks that have picked up where the original developers left off. Scan Tailor Advanced is my current fork of choice, though Scan Tailor Universal tries to add new usability features. For whatever reason, only Advanced makes full use of my CPU, so it's several times faster than Universal for the time being.

  • naps2

Scan documents to PDF and more, as simply as possible.

  • For getting ahold of the pictures in the first place, it depends on which route you're going. For a DSLR, look for a companion app on your phone. This will make it easier to take repeated shots and set various controls without touching the camera and bumping your shot. For your phone, Open Camera is fantastic for the same reasons. For a proper scanner, I recommend NAPS2, for reasons I'll get to a bit later. For now, just know that it's a good way of grabbing images from your scanner while controlling quality. It also allows you to export all the scans as individual image files, which is important for the next step.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
