Open-source keyboard firmware for Atmel AVR and Arm USB families

  • If you built your keyboard following a well-known (or even a lesser-known) model like Corne, Planck, Sofle, then QMK comes "out of the box" with definitions and a default keymap that you can use as a starting point. If for instance your keyboard is a Sofle, start by copying the contents of keyboards/sofle/keymaps/default to a new directory keyboards/sofle/keymaps/. From there, most configurations in practice are done by just editing the layout matrices in keymap.c to say what each key does.

    Online GUI for QMK Firmware

  • Hi there, looking for some help or opinions on what is going on here. I have a handwired keyboard I am working on and am using the space bar as a layer modifier when held down and normally the space bar when tapped using the LT(layer, kc) command. However on kbfirmware.com it is saying my layout doesnt include the space bar. Is this just a warning since it is not only assigned to the space bar or is this going to be an issue when i wire it up? I have seen a couple other posts having problems with this command but no concrete solutions. If any one has any idea about this please let me know. Thank you! Let me know if there is any details (keymap, wiring, pinout) I can add to help.
