iOS-OTA-Downgrader
Discontinued A multi-purpose script to save blobs, restore, and jailbreak supported legacy iOS devices [Moved to: https://github.com/LukeZGD/Legacy-iOS-Kit]
Okay, so I didn’t end up dualbooting so I can’t speak to that, but downgrading the device is pretty easy. The tool that most people use is LukeZGD’s iOS-OTA-Downgrader The developer wrote a tutorial that’s pretty easy to follow, but you do need macOS or Linux (for Linux, distro matters and the tutorial has ones you can use). It’s basically jailbreak your device, add the repo, install OpenSSH, and run the script. The one thing is that selecting the option to pre-jailbreak your downgrade may not work on certain A5 devices, including the iPad mini and iPod Touch 5th gen, so don’t select it.
