I think it is difficult to implement project drawers because they're not really "vim native", although I've never actually tried. I personally don't even like project drawers (my file manager plugin isn't a project-drawer), but sometimes when I'm showing code to other developers, I feel like it would be nice to have a VSCode-style file tree so they don't get as disoriented
