Oculus users can get 30%-40% more FPS with Open Composite, just rename the current DLL and replace with the new one. But you lose Steam VR exclusive features like Natural Locomotion which I consider to be a big health benefit, and Steam VR has less issues in general. I personally use Steam VR for easy screenshots, and getting back to the game without restarting if Quest 2 loses tracking/disconnects from Wifi. For lower end GPU users definitely go with Open Composite, with motion smoothing it should still be very playable.
after some more testing I ended up with using both FSR and foveated thanks to https://github.com/fholger/vrperfkit/releases/tag/v0.2.2 . very smooth and the best image quality so far with reverb g2. Also, contrary to what said here https://github.com/fholger/openvr_foveated/wiki , I do not see any issue with TAA on (needed to improve quite significantly distant objects)
