It gave me easy access to monitoring my jobs. However, it's some work to use if you are limited in time. That's why I created a python wrapper around your job and forget about all the housekeeping.

This is pretty cool. I just released my first version of https://github.com/andrewthetechie/py-healthchecks.io a few days ago that's also healthchecks.io related, but more for managing checks via the api.
