  • My solution was to slap a wm. I use i3 and qtile (not at the same time lol). They are much better for me compared to kde or xfce for memory consumption. If you'd like to try a wm I would suggest i3 and use one of the preconfigured ones e.g. Arco or Endeavour which has list of packages to be installed (e.g. rofi, dunst, i3-lock etc.) so you'll get all the functionality of a DE. They even have install scripts to fetch everything needed if you require. Also you can waste months of your life ricing. It's like cocaine I tell you.
