  • Learn to use API's. There are loads of public apis that you can use to build a new app and showcase it. Be it by making an app for one api or making an app with multiple functionalities is up to you but the point is to show that you can work with data dynamically coming from a different source. Not sure of any of the list above allow you to post back to the API server, but you might want to look into that as well since even as a frontend dev, some of your apps will require data saved from the user to a database (think subscription forms).
