Hmm. It looks like they're pretty sure of how it would apply to I2P, judging by their code where they have some stuff subbed out and their checkin log where they talk about alternate nameserver plugins, which from the look of: https://github.com/tynes/hsd-ens-resolution/blob/master/lib/plugin.js isn't actually that difficult to implement. An HSD plugin could resolve I2P hostnames/b32's to destinations with to act as a distributed CA inside of I2P. I think. node-i2p could set up the server and the p2p inside of I2P. I think. I'd have to start experimenting with it to know more but I don't have time right now.
