If you what stl's previews (thumbnails) to be displayed and use CURA as your slicer of choise + Fluid or Mainsail you should install Cura plugin - MoonrakerUpload (https://github.com/emtrax-ltd/Cura2MoonrakerPlugin) , configure it according to the instructions and choose output format - UFP with Thumbnail (not G-code). If you use Octoprint - BTT (if I'm not mirstaken) has thair own plugin for this display.
