I'd like to make my own iterations on the Dactyl (specifically the Ex-Dactyl fork which adds an extra inner column). However I am not a programmer and I cannot make heads or tails of the Dactyl Clojure code, or any other kind of computer code for that matter. Has anyone written a guide for people like me that explains what all the different parts of the code do and how to edit them?
I'm using the original Dactyl files, https://github.com/adereth/dactyl-keyboard/blob/master/src/dactyl_keyboard/dactyl.clj . I compared this to the Ex-Dactyl to see how it added the extra column and I think I can make that change to the original. But my problem now is that the script does not seem to work. I have installed Clojure, Leiningen, and OpenSCAD, and can get into lein-repl, but when I try load-file "src/dactyl_keyboard/dactyl.clj", it just says #object[clojure.lang.RT$3 0x58a2c11b "clojure.lang.RT$3@58a2c11b"] "src/dactyl_keyboard/dactyl.clj" ; it doesn't regenerate the things/*.scad files or seemingly do anything.
