If I could make a suggestion, could you add 'mkdir /var/lib/webosbrew/init.d' somewhere in the setup routine? I had to stumble across this thread to learn there was a writable init.d directory. If it were created during setup, I would have found it about five hours sooner and saved a ton of effort.
