I suppose you already found the answer among the comments, but if you get into R more in the future, I highly recommend the slider package for this purpose. It does not only follow the tidyverse grammar, but allows full control over which function you are rolling over the data, how incomplete observations are handled, where the window of averaging is located relative to the data point, etc.
