Then there is Haxe that is a higher level language that directly transpiles to C++. But I wouldn't really say the syntax is simpler than for C++
Well you can use Cython transpile certain Python to C code, albeit it still needs the Python runtime and a lot of other stuff, so it isn't really a direct conversion.
