  • s-tui

Terminal-based CPU stress and monitoring utility

  • I wondered if the CPU was throttling so I ran the Python tool s-tui to examine the stats. Indeed my CPU use was high, but what really concerned me is that my thinkpad,0 fan speed is always shown in s-tui to be at or close to full speed (between 3880 and 4000 RPM) even when my CPU usage is less than 10% and temperature less than 60C. What's strange is that I don't really hear the fan speed up or down! It is just quiet all the time!
