  • Is anyone automating the installation of firmware updates with a Dell Openmanage appliance? We have a few thousand blades and roughly same again of various types of poweredge running linux with drac versions from 7 to 9. I'm trying to do it by modifying some of the scripts here https://github.com/dell/OpenManage-Enterprise/tree/master/Python. The updates work 90% of the time but we see a good number of failures due to baseline creation problems (we create them dynamically per host due to the variety of different hosts we have). The appliance is also pretty prone to race conditions as some tasks seem to happen very slowly, though we have worked around most of these by littering the code with sleeps.
