This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/linux

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • mozilla-vpn-client

A fast, secure and easy to use VPN. Built by the makers of Firefox.

  • Uhh, the client is open source. Not sure where you got the idea it isn't. The source code is here: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/mozilla-vpn-client

  • MozWire

MozWire is an unofficial configuration manager giving Linux, macOS users (among others), access to MozillaVPN.

  • Here's the commit that implements it: https://github.com/NilsIrl/MozWire/commit/d5aa228a9d113dcb911ca213b4cb23af6867061c

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • network-manager-wireguard

    NetworkManager VPN Plugin: Wireguard

  • On Arch I installed this package to get a GUI for WireGuard in the Gnome Control Panel. It doesn't look like anyone has packaged it for Ubuntu, but you could install it from source.

  • libvopono

    Backend crate for vopono.

  • I'm also (slowly) working on making vopono a library too, so you could run spawn a network namespace and Wireguard connection to run a specific closure (i.e. reqwest requests, etc.) - https://github.com/jamesmcm/libvopono

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
