So... where do I go from here?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/Onyx_Boox

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • dictzip-win32

Pure Dictzip for Windows, no Cygwin, no extra DLL dependencies.

  • You might want a dictionary of some sort. Onyx's included dictionary application accepts dictionaries in the StarDict format (a folder .dict + .idx + .ifo; the .dict file can be optionally compressed with dictzip to make a .dict.dz file in place of the .dict). The Onyx Dictionary application lets you download some dictionaries straight from the app; you might want to look at their guide for getting your own. KOReader will also let you download some freely distributable ones from its settings too.

  • ebook-reader-dict

Finally decent dictionaries based on Wiktionary for your beloved eBook reader.

  • Wiktionary and I compress the .dict file. This dictionary is good, but it exposes a bug in the stock dictionary application: it has entries for Light and light, but the Onyx dictionary will only show the Light entry. GoldenDict handles it properly.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
