Things I would love to see in kde plasma.

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/kde

  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Emote

Emoji Picker for Linux written in GTK3

  • Emoji: Windows 10 has the most robust emoji picker there is. It opens with meta+. similar to plasma but that's where the similarity ends. Windows emoji picker doesn't copy paste emoji, it writes to the open window. User can input as many emoji as they like without pressing ctrl+v every time. I have tried many alternatives, Emote, rofimoji,x11-emoji-picker. Among those x11-emoji-picker is closest to windows but has a lot of bugs. I have had system freeze🥶🥶, no keyboard shortcut not working, frame drops🥴🥴🥴.

  • rofimoji

Emoji, unicode and general character picker for rofi and rofi-likes

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • x11-emoji-picker

    Linux XServer emoji picker

  • Parachute

Discontinued Look at your windows and desktops from above.

  • Virtual desktop: To manage virtual desktop I use Desktop Grid. Desktop Grid is good enough if someone uses 4 desktop 2 grid layout. But if you work with more desktops than it becomes a cluttered mess. Gnome, elementary and windows all have better tools to manage virtual desktops. I tried Parachute. It is prefect. It handles both launching apps and managing windows. But the project is a one man army show. It has many bugs which breaks the workflows often and doesn't have the ability to rearrange desktops like Desktop Grid.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
