However there is this separate app that seems to support achievement tracking and notifications.
You could give Playnite a try, it's an amazing launcher that's open source, very lightweight, can even launch emulated games and supports scripting (like running an app before you launch a game and closing it after). If you care about achievements, there is an extension called success story for playnite but sadly I don't believe it supports pirated copies.
