In MultiMC, to get custom mods, you just edit instance, go to the Version tab, and click “Install Forge” on the right. It will ask you what version to install, and then will install forge. To add mods, click “Open .minecraft”. This will bring you to the minecraft folder, and you can put your mods in the mods folder. If you are using under 1.12, you need to use a wrapper command with lwjgl2, this repo is a fork of the original and works: https://github.com/r58Playz/m1-multimc-hack/
