Lenovo ThinkPad P50 OpenCore macOS Install Guide

  • I've also applied the full set of SSDT patches provided by by /u/midi1996 in the guide except for the following:

  • CPUFriendFriend

Py script to walk frequency vectors and leverage acidanthera's CPUFriend ResourceConverter.

  • I also used CPUFriendFriend to generate the kext for power savings according to my liking. The idle power usage is <1W.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • BrightnessKeys

Handler for brightness keys without DSDT patches

  • I removed ACPI patches for keyboard FN keys since I'm using acidanthera's BrightnessKeys kext.

  • YogaSMC

    ACPI driver for OEM hardware.

  • Thanks! The guide I made was for a 1080p screen device (with P530, not HD530) and sadly I didn't know people with 4K displays to work with for the guide. Indeed a lot of things are outdated in the guide but if you follow the Dortania guide then most of it is in there. I switched to BrightnessKeys kexts as soon as it hit stable and I forgot to put that in the guide, it works so well. Also checkout YogaSMC for fan control, battery limiter, hotkeys... I'll try to update the guide one day with your findings! Thanks again.
