As for documentation links, https://esphome.io/ is all about the firmware itself and this significantly simplifies the process of uploading your own firmware (esphome. There are other firmware too, but integration with home assistant is harder) to any tuya devices.

I've been using PiHole (patreon paid) for a couple of years now, even after all the "optimizations" It tends to kill the microsd too quickly (too much I/O?) but that also happened with hassio, so it's not their problem per se. I feel it's not the fastest but gets the job done!. This time I wanted to try adguard, which IMO was faster and right so because written in go (https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome) However, they still need to fix dhcp.
