I found pretty good results from the Pirate Bloom shader (from https://github.com/Heathen/Pirate-Shaders) - it's subtle, can be configured, and also doesn't cost too much performance. It also made the sky feel more three-dimensional to me somehow which enhanced the feeling of depth in the image.
I’ve been really happy with the Blooming HDR shader from the AstrayFX suite here: https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/AstrayFX. I run only that and CAS and it really helps the depth of the image for me too. It also seems to help even out the color palette in a nice way.
