  • Guide_3DS

A complete guide to 3DS custom firmware, from stock to boot9strap.

  • 3DS with CFW, using the Checkpoint homebrew. You want the .cia version. DS cartridges sometimes take up to 20 seconds to appear, but always show up at the top left of the icon grid. Backup and restore behave exactly how they do for 3DS games. This is the best and easiest way, do it if you can.

  • Checkpoint

Fast and simple homebrew save manager for 3DS and Switch.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • GodMode9i

GodMode9i Explorer - A full access file browser for the Nintendo DS and DSi consoles :godmode:

  • DSi with CFW, using Godmode9i. You want the .nds file. Put it in /roms/nds on your SD card and launch it from Twilight Menu++. To backup a save, click on "NDS GAMECARD" and then select "Save". This will make a .sav file in /gm9i/out on your SD with the name of the game. You can browse there and change the name with R+X if you want after it finishes. That opens a touch keyboard; start is OK, B is backspace, D-pad moves the cursor. To restore the save, browse to it and click on it, and select "Restore save". This way is a close second, do it if you happen to be using a DSi instead of a 3DS at the moment.

  • nds-savegame-manager

Tool by Pokedoc to rip and restore saves from DS and GBA games.

  • DS Phat or Lite with a DS flashcart (or Action Replay DSi that takes a MicroSD though you also need ARDSI Menu to handle DLDI auto patching or track down the appropriate DLDI patch and patch the nds file for NDS Savegame Manager yourself), wifi your DS can connect to, an FTP server with write access accessible through that wifi, and NDS Savegame Manager. Does NOT work on DSi or 3DS since they turn off the cartridge slot if you're booted into a flashcart and then eject it. Use above CFW methods for those consoles. The FTP server can be any PC FTP server program, or a phone file manager app like Solid Explorer that includes a builtin FTP server function. The wifi can be a phone hotspot with no password. Copy the nds and ini files to the root of your flashcart's SD card, and edit the ini to have the correct IP, port, username and password for the FTP server. If the FTP server has anonymous (no password) access, put anonymous for the user and anything that looks like an email for the password ([email protected] for instance). There is also a pdf with some additional help that comes with NDS Savegame Manager. This method sucks because of complexity of setup, but at least a lot of people already have R4 cards. Avoid it if you can.

  • PKSM

Gen I to GenVIII save manager.

  • In my experience, the best way to cheat in Pokemon is using save editors rather than codes. For hacked 3DS, PKSM is the way to go. For hacked DSi, Pokemon Chest. Both are about the same thing: a combination of Pokemon Bank without needing to connect to the internet, moving pokes between generations, and a savegame editor that can create and edit Pokemon as well as some other stuff in your save. PKSM is the better app since it supports generations 1-7 on 3DS, but Chest runs on a DSi and handles generations 3-5.

  • pkmn-chest

A Pokémon Bank for the 3rd through 5th generation Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS(i).
