On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest the killing of 3rd Party Apps! All FOSS apps are 3rd Party Apps. Will /r/linux join the strike?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/linux

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Lemmy

🐀 A link aggregator and forum for the fediverse

  • Dug in, the devs don't wanna add that ability in fear of filter bubbles. However, there ARE instances blocking it apparently.

  • reddit1.0

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • Reddit

  • libreddit

    Private front-end for Reddit

  • Alternative web based front-ends for Reddit might get shut down or affected to, see Libreddit's github issue on Reddit's API changes. Really sucks

  • mgmt

Next generation distributed, event-driven, parallel config management!

  • Eventually decided puppet wasn't a good enough tool to be able to autonomously deploy and continuously manage such clusters. So I started working on this https://github.com/purpleidea/mgmt/ project. Not quite MVP yet, but trying to get there soon. Got distracted along the way with having to work real jobs (Red Hat, Amazon) to pay bills.

  • tildes

  • It doesn't look like it, going by the source code. Lemmy is decantralized.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
