  • archiveis

A simple Python wrapper for the archive.is capturing service

  • I don't support the sort of paywall circumvention you describe, on principle and because that sort of piracy is probably illegal, and I'm also not providing people with tools to do illegal stuff. For the case you describe, it seems there are certainly plenty of ways to do this. Technically, you could also lend your laptop to someone who doesn't pay for a subscription, and that would be piracy too, perhaps. Or you could create a remote desktop with chrome logged in to your paywalled subscription and then provide the VNC access to people. But then again, can't you do the same, and possibly in a more persistent way, with archive.is?

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
