Here's a little peak of my neovim rice. The screenshots are out of date but the gist of it is there.

  Miryoku is an ergonomic, minimal, orthogonal, and universal keyboard layout.

My arrow keys are already on the home row because I use an ergo split keyboard with a custom layout. It's similar to Miryoku's home row. Note the ctrl, shift, alt on the left side -- super important for movement. Yes vim has more movement features, but my keyboard is much better than a normal keyboard without vim and I think it's enough.
