If you want to have fun and learn gentoo, then create your own gentoo repo and create an ebuild for searx, since most of searx dependinces are python, you can find a lot of examples of them, most likely you would need to convert this requirements.txt into an ebuild, just dont hard limit the versions and make them flexible so the rest of your system can breath, assuming you figured out the ebuild and python eclass stuff, you will have the searx commands installed on the system and you will be able to run them as root.
