I feel like you're not really answering OP's question, so I'll give it a go. From what I can tell Umbrel is essentially delivering compose file that is using Vaultwarden image behind the scenes.
A beautiful home server OS for self-hosting with an app store. Buy a pre-built Umbrel Home with umbrelOS, or install on a Raspberry Pi 4, any Ubuntu/Debian system, or a VPS.
Or even without trying to be malicious, there's hardcoded image sha that someone needs to update in timely manner. Just looking at top issues, this seems to be already a problem. I don't see any backup strategy, no solid configuration control, etc.. What would be the solution for that? How does one manage the base server?
