add_photo_locations_from_gpx
Add missing location data to photos in Apple's Photos app using data from a GPX file
I'm the author of a free command line tool osxphotos that includes a batch-edit command for updating metadata in Photos. It can update the location data but doesn't currently read GPX. The tool is written in python and there is a python package for reading GPX so this would be trivial to write a script to fix. If you have a photo and GPX file you're willing to share in a DM to me, I'll take a stab at this later today.
I did something similar to add missing locations from my Google takeout history.
I wrote a python script that will read the waypoints from the GPX file and add location data to the photos. The script can be found here. This does require some comfort with the Terminal but it can be run without knowing any python.
