Problem starts here, unofficial Flathub package is unofficial. So when Discord pushes an update, whoever maintains that unofficial package is not notified about it by Discord. Until they notice it or someone notifies them, the Flathub package will not be updated. When Discord on Linux is not at the latest version, you don't let us keep using Discord, you give us error and two options as deb and tar.gz, one is incompatible and other one is hard to maintain. It's unofficial, but that doesn't mean using it is against ToS. If you read its source code, you will see it just downloads tarball from official Discord servers and make it compatible with Flatpak format. https://github.com/flathub/com.discordapp.Discord
Fedora does not include proprietary software in their repos, but it's available from RPM Fusion. It's still unofficial though.
