I work for Qdrant (https://qdrant.tech), and I can recommend checking it out! It offers both local and cloud, and recently we've introduced an in-memory mode, so you can use it for testing even without spinning a container: https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant-client#local-mode
I use faiss and it works OK for me: https://github.com/facebookresearch/faiss . I am interested in maybe trying out other options as pinecone.
