You could give notepadqq a try, it is very close in look in feel to notepad++. I don't know if extensions/plugins would be compatible, though.

Give CoreCtrl a try for fan speed / power profile management, and if you need in-game temperature/FPS/metrics HUD, MangoHUD should do you well
