I don't know if this will help ease your mind, but Blokada 5 is a good system-wide adblocker app. I believe it's available with FOSS and you can download it on the Galaxy Store if you have a Samsung phone. Blokada 6 in the Play Store is a subscription-based cloud app because Google doesn't allow VPN-based adblockers in the Play Store.
