For me downloading activities in .gpx from other users works without premium (if it doesn't for you, install a Chrome that allows it like this one). I then upload the .gpx activity to Komoot and realize some edits. Then, I download the edited route using this tool. Finally I upload it to Garmin connect, as I use a Gamin device to navigate the route/record my activities. A bit long process, but the best that works for me after years of trying different tools.
