I consider myself a lazy old-school VR gamer: I like re-experiencing old games in VR, seated and with a controller. My favorite games in VR are all VR mods or VR ports of games: all Doom engine games and whatever crazy wads I can find on moddb.com (check out the Jazz Jackrabbit wad and the Zombies Ate My Neighbors wad!), Quake, Gamecube/Wii games, and Yooka Laylee using the Vooka Raylee mod, Myst VR, The Talos Principle VR.

The Yooka Laylee mod is actually a modification of u/Eusth's VR injector for the Unity engine. I think his intention was to release the base injector framework so that the community would carry on with his work and tailor it to other major games. This, as far as I am concerned, has never happened for whatever reason. There are TONS of AA or AAA Unity-based games that would benefit from VR, like Katamari Damacy REROLL for example.
I know this exists for unity but it's not so much a universal injector as a starting point for building VR mods for Unity games. It doesn't handle menus and I'm not aware of any games that "just work" with it alone.
There is also geo11 which is kind of like a better Vortex but my understanding is that it can only simulate playing games on a 3D tv.
