yt-dlp is the go-to now. It's FOSS so it is trusted, it's a fork of youtube-dl and is generally considered to be better. I made yt-dlp CLI for a friend that isn't CLI savvy. It doesn't include yt-dlp or ffmpeg (also FOSS), but it will open official links to download them if they aren't found and will tell you where to put them. It doesn't currently have full yt-dlp capabilities, but it can download audio or video and can download audio in multiple formats as well as fidelity.
