User /u/trystrer has managed to make a fork with the fixes implemented, and has kindly given me permission to share.
I experienced the same issues trying matterport-dl on the Pokemon website. This fork https://github.com/mu-ramadan/matterport-dl, however, works for me for downloading the Pokemon website and another Matterport model I found online. The entire download size for the Pokemon fossil museum is 2.22 GB and I was able to run it locally without an internet connection.
