  • LeafArea

An interface for the image processing program ImageJ, which allows a rapid digital image analysis for particle sizes.

  • I’d worry that apps might crash before my data was securely stored so haven’t looked into that sort of thing. One thing I found helpful was to set up a mat with a grid or ruler and have a camera mounted to take specimen photos. The data collection process can then be automated using image j and R (through something like this https://www.r-bloggers.com/2011/08/image-data-from-imagej-to-r-and-vice-versa/amp/ or https://github.com/mattocci27/LeafArea). Having the photos was also useful from a reproducibility/ data repository point of view as well as having nice images to include in papers and presentations.
