Project mention: How can I mimic SteamOS setup on my Windows 11 partition? (Starting with Big Picture + Steam Input in all non-Steam games) | /r/WindowsOnDeck | 2023-12-07
Project mention: I made a script to validate all installed Steam apps for those who've had problems with many apps. | /r/Steam | 2023-08-12I recently had my steamapps folder get corrupted along with some other things. Because of this, I realized how annoying it is to validate multiple apps. I looked for an already-made script to do this for me, but none of the ones I tested fully worked with the current version of Steam, so I created a PowerShell script to automatically start validating apps one after another. It worked really well for me, therefore I wanted to share it so other people could save some time! I worked on it some more before uploading it to GitHub and now it can accommodate more situations in order for it to be easier for others to use. Unfortunately, this script is only compatible with Windows (sorry Mac and Linux users); I do plan on making a version of the script that is compatible with other operating systems. I have not tested the script on Windows 8.1 or older, so it might not work on those versions of Windows, but I believe it should. There are instructions on how to use the script on the GitHub page. Here it is: ArtisticTuxedo/ValidateSteamApps: A PowerShell script that validates all Steam apps one after another. Meant for people who have had some sort of mass corruption to their apps and games.
